Breakfast in bed

WOW...woke up to the kids standing over our bed saying "we made you guys breakfast in bed all by ourselves, to say thank you for paying for us to go to a good school" all while holding our breakfast tray! Chuck & I were overwhelmed (held back our tears) and kinda scared to see the kitchen (they never poured drinks alone) but kitchen spotless! I have been blessed with with 2 best kids ever, Thank you God ♥

Guess kids are really excited for school...Kindergarten & 1st grade Mary and John are on their way ;~))

Mary...

Johnny said something funny in the car and Mary said, " Johnny is so funny I can't get past him"...LOL

Our nigtht time talks

Tonight while picking out a book for me to read him, John tells me "mom I want to be a kid forever, for my whole life, till I die" as I tucked him in after our story I asked why, he said "becasue I won't be able to learn new words"...I held back my tears and said "why do you think this b/c it is hard for you to say some things?"...he said "yes mommy". I asked him if he was sad about this and the tears filled his eys. I told him if he felt like crying that it is ok and asked if he needed a hug. He jumped out of bed and wrapped both arms tight around me and we hugged. We then had a little talk about how smart, creative, funny, and kind he is. We talked about how great he is doing and he is all ready for kindergarten...and he said "is this the truth?"..yes it is my love!!! "Ok mom I believe you let's say our prayers" <3 All becasued I asked him why?...love the talks my lovebugs and I have at the end of the day. And then Mary shared her excitement and fears about leaving kindergarten and going to 1st grade, can not beleive what a grown up conversation her and I had. She has grown up so much this past year and I am beyond proud of her <3




What a fullfilling day this mom had and was topped off with some heart to heart conversations with the ones I love & treasure most. So grateful for these moments and that they share so much!

The other day from out of no where, John says "Mom you know your sister who died, I saw her up there she is an angel for you"  <3

More of Mary's wisdom...

Driving home from pet store: Mary says, "Mom I am so glad you and daddy picked eachother and that you decided to have me and Johnny becasue you are the nicest & best parents ever"...I almost cried, she was so matter a fact and sweet at the same time ♥

I told her I am so very glad you are my daughter because you amaze me everyday and I love you more than ever!!!!

Bedtime conversation with Mary...

Mary~"Mom, if you die holding a stuffed animal does God make you drop it or do you get to keep it, well I am bringing lovey everywhere w/ me because I think when you die you are alive in Heaven & get to play with your friends who died before you & Audrey may die before me so she is there to play with me, well mom God has a plan, right, so I guess I have to wait and see what it is?!"
She got that all out in one, fast breath with a brief pause btwn thoughts and my response, "I think you got it right sweetheart" ♥ My closest moment to God today!
I love you Mary Rose and all your beautiful thoughts!!!

some funny kids

All in a day...
~John was mad I wouldn't let him ride his bike backwards from top of driveway so he says "I am not gonna listen to you for my whole life"...
~Then at dinner the waitress was laughing at what we said, then laughed when at the next table.  John looks at us and says in the cutest voice "why does she think everything is so funny? And that wasn't even funny"  (Chuck and I almost peed our pants)
~I was showing John a picture on my phone and he says "Mom your phone is just crappy"...WHAT where did you hear that word?  He says "I made it up)!!  Can't wait to tell the verizon guy I need a new phone because this one is crappy!
~At end of day Mary said mom we had an "absent teacher" in our class today because Mrs. Cacia was out and then so was Mrs. LeChase and so I cried a little.  She didn't wanna hear that they are called substitute teachers ;)

John & Mary you make me laugh, smile, and sometimes cry everyday and I thank my lucky stars for you XOXO

Mary lost her 1st tooth!

That is literally she lost it!!!   It has been wiggly for a while.  She saw the dentist last Thursday and because the other tooth is already growing in, they said if her tooth did not fall out in 2 weeks they would have to pull it out.  So every nite Mary let's me wiggle it, twist and turn!   So she was outside playing after school and when she was running, the zipper at the top of her coat caught on her tooth and bam, it fell out into a huge grass filled area.  Daddy and Mary searched but could not find it.  So Mary wrote the tooth fairy the following letter:
Dear Tooth Fairy,
I lost my tooth but I can't find it.  It is in the grass across the street.  I hope you find it!

What an exciting nite!!!!
And today Mary also won the Joseph Sarto Student of the Month Award...I am so PROUD!!!

Lent...

Johnny hid Mary's hula hoop on her and when she found it she says to him, "you know it is the season of lent and you should be nicer, 40 days of lent and 50 days of Easter, OK John!!!"

Mommy had to hold in her laugh!  So smart and sweet my Mary is ;)

Mary at Doctors

Mary has been very sick with high fevers since Saturday, was dx with strep and double ear infection on Tuesday, and last 2 days not eating or drinking so my mommy gut was worried and knew something else was wrong!   We went back to Dr's today.  Mary says, (while drinking 8oz of pedialyte to avoid a stay at Strong)..."this is on my first nerve!"    I asked her, what?  She said, it's just an expression mom! I told her yeah that sums up our whole week sweetheart ♥   She was dx with a viral infection in her mouth and is on antiviral meds for 10 days and my mommy gut is feeling peaceful now.  My girl is getting treatment she needs and will be better soon ;)   Looking forward to getting 2nd opinion from a new ENT on her tonsils, as myself and pediatrican think Mary's tonsils are source of her string of illness and sleep issues.  

John

While snugglin on the couch Johnny sings out, "I'm so hot, I'm a stove, anyone wanna bake"!!!  I laughed so hard.  If he ever ends up doing to stand up comedy, I will have to tell him how cute his 1st joke was ;)

Mary...

My Mary has been pretty sick last few dasy.  The other nite she climbs into my bed and gets in the middle (her usual spot when she has a bad dream/can't sleep/is sick) and then looks over at me and says "Mom, do you want to sleep in my bed".  I tell her "sure, let's go".  She replies, "No I meant just you, I am smooshed in her between you guys, you go in my bed so I can stretch out"....yeah I laughed at her and then rolled over and went to sleep!

"Oh what a night"

So we are doing snack and going through backpacks and "oh what a night" came on the radio.  One of my favotite songs to dance to and so I turned it up.  I began to sing and dance!  Mary turns around in her chair and says "mom this song makes my butt dance"!  And sure enough she was sitting in her chair with her but dancin!!!!
